AN UPDATE ON COVID-19: INFORMATION ABOUT AMY’S ICE CREAMS SOCO LOCATION

| July 13, 2020

July 13, 2020

We learned that an Amy’s employee at our South Congress location (1301 S. Lamar Blvd.  Austin, Texas 78704) tested positive for COVID-19 on July 13, 2020. Upon receiving this news, we acted immediately to notify our team at that location. The employee notified us on July 13, 2020 of their positive test results. The last shift this employee worked was Sunday, July 5th, the store was open to the public for walk-up service.

Following guidance from public health authorities, Amy’s Ice Creams identified all other team members who had close contact with the affected person and they are currently in self-quarantine until free of symptoms for 14 days or have tested negative for the virus. Testing is  being conducted currently for those who are experiencing symptoms.  We will deep clean the entire store with a local sanitation company on  the morning of July 14th, this also includes mandatory regular cleanings of workstations and high touch areas.  The store is currently closed to the public.

We are, and have been, following all recommended guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and city, county, and state public health departments. Any team members experiencing fever or symptoms of respiratory illness are being advised to stay home.

Amy’s Ice Creams prides itself on its cleanliness and food safety standards, and we are doing everything we can to best serve our customers, care for our staff, and be a responsible member of our community. We have implemented rigorous cleaning practices throughout our stores, including hourly cleanings of high-impact/high-touch areas.
